Let the Toys Play – Children’s Music Workshop
 
Do you have a little 8-note xylophone at home? It may look like a toy—but it’s actually a real musical instrument, and you might just want one because it’s so much fun and a wonderful first step into music!
 
In this playful workshop for children between 4 and 8 years old, we’ll start making music right away using simple, colorful notes—no experience needed, just curiosity and joy.
 
Together we’ll learn 3 Dutch children’s songs (with Ukrainian and English translations), helping families explore language, culture, and music side by side.
 
Hosted in the library as part of International Children’s Day “Toys Around the World,” this multilingual project is supported by the municipality and celebrates diversity through music. The host is Olha Stanko, expat herself and a mom of two daughters.  She is a founder of a musical project Songs of Happy Children and for more than 2 years she shares her love for songs and music with children and their families across communities. 

Spelen met Speelgoed – Muziekworkshop voor kids!
Heb jij thuis ook een xylofoontje met 8 vrolijke gekleurde staafjes? Het lijkt misschien gewoon speelgoed, maar wist je dat het een echt instrument is? Het is stiekem zo leuk dat je er als volwassene zelf ook op wilt spelen - en voor kinderen is het dé perfecte eerste stap in de wereld van muziek!
 
Tijdens deze vrolijke workshop voor kinderen van 4 tot 8 jaar duiken we meteen de muziek in. Met behulp van simpele, gekleurde noten maken we vanaf de eerste minuut samen muziek. Ervaring is helemaal niet nodig; zolang je maar nieuwsgierig bent en zin hebt in een feestje!
 
We gaan samen aan de slag met drie oer-Hollandse kinderliedjes (inclusief vertalingen naar het Oekraïens en Engels). Zo ontdekken we zingend en spelend elkaars taal en cultuur. Doe je mee?
