Book banning in practice part 2: experiment in restricted access

One week after the first session, we’ll come back together for the second part of Book Banning in Practice. Please note: participation in this second session is only possible for those who also took part in Part 1.

During the first meeting, participants were introduced to an experiment in restricted access. Everyone who chooses to participate will receive the same book—but the experience of getting access to it may be a little different than usual.

In this second session, we’ll look back on the experiment and discuss what it was like to read a book under these circumstances. Did the restrictions change your curiosity? Your motivation to read? Or perhaps even the way you experienced the story itself?

Of course, we’ll also discuss the book together.

Book Banning in Practice is part of De week van het verboden boek, and is organized by de Bibliotheek Regio Eindhoven in collaboration with Dead Writers, the Classics Book Club.

Een week na de eerste bijeenkomst komen we opnieuw samen om terug te kijken op een bijzondere leeservaring. Wat gebeurt er met je nieuwsgierigheid wanneer toegang tot een boek wordt beperkt? Verandert het de manier waarop je leest of zelfs hoe je het verhaal ervaart?

We bespreken het experiment én het boek dat iedereen heeft gelezen.

Let op: ook deze bijeenkomst wordt in het Engels gehouden.
