What makes us feel at home? Is home a place, the people around us, our memories, a feeling, or something we carry within ourselves?
Whether we have moved across countries, changed careers, become a parent, experienced loss, or simply found ourselves searching for connection, we all have a fundamental need to belong, to feel seen, accepted, and connected. In this interactive and creative workshop, psychologist Dr. Elif Durgel invites participants to explore the psychology of belonging and how it shapes our well-being, relationships, identity, and sense of home.
Combining insights from psychology with guided reflection and a creative exercise, the workshop offers a space to pause, reconnect with yourself, and gain fresh perspectives on your own life experiences.
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the psychology of belonging and why it is a fundamental human need.
- Reflect on how life experiences such as migration, career changes, parenthood, loss, or other transitions can shape our sense of identity and home.
- Explore practical ways to foster a stronger sense of belonging in everyday life, both within themselves and in their relationships.
- Experience guided reflection and a creative exercise that offers new perspectives on their own life journey.
- Leave with thought-provoking questions, practical insights, and a greater sense of connection to themselves, to others, and to the idea of home.
