Mending Café / Repareer je kleding

Let’s repair clothes together! Got a hole in your sock, a loose button or would you like to add some embroidery to your garment? Join Katja from Eindje Groen and Green Café on this relaxed evening to mend clothes together. Learn simple ways to repair your clothes, with nothing more than a needle and a thread. Whether you’re a total beginner or have some experience, all skill levels are welcome. You just need to bring something you want to repair and a curious attitude. All other materials are provided, like scissors, needles, threads (regular and embroidery kind), and selection of fabrics.

Let’s celebrate mending together, give your clothes some love. And learn basic repair skills that everyone should know.

About the facilitator
Katja Lumme is the co-founder of Eindje Groen and also one of the climate mayors in Eindhoven. There is space to talk about mending, and other sustainability topics during this workshop.

About the Green Café
The Green Café is a collaboration between Trefpunt Groen Eindhoven, Eindje Groen (Katja Lumme), with individual contributors: Audrey Pepin, Chloe Baldasseroni, Giedre Liutkeviciute, Mayra Ortega Maldonado and Zubin Nayak. It organizes various activities on sustainability for the international community of Eindhoven. For example, lectures, workshops, city tours and film sessions on the themes of nature, environment and sustainability. Green Cafe is supported by the Eindhoven Library and the Holland Expat Center South.

Laten we samen kleding repareren! Heb je een gat in je sok, een losse knoop of wil je iets moois borduren op je kledingstuk? Doe mee met Katja van Eindje Groen tijdens deze gezellige en onstpannen avond. Katja leert je hoe je je kleding op een eenvoudige manier kunt repareren, gewoon met naald en draad. Of je nu een beginner bent of al wat ervaring hebt, alle niveaus zijn welkom. Behalve een nieuwsgierige houding en een kledingstuk dat je wilt repareren, heb je niks nodig.

Katja Lumme is medeoprichter van Eindje Groen en een van de klimaatburgemeesters van Eindhoven. Tijdens deze workshop is er ruimte om te praten over repareren en andere duurzaamheidsthema's.

Week Zonder Afval
Tijdens de landelijke Week Zonder Afval, van 1 t/m 7 juni, zet de Bibliotheek Regio Eindhoven het thema duurzaamheid extra in de schijnwerpers. Met een gevarieerd programma vol workshops en inloopmomenten nodigt de bibliotheek inwoners uit de regio uit om de kracht van delen en hergebruik te ontdekken. Het volledige programma vind je hier.
